Point brightness
Points blend additively, so a crowded
cluster can wash out to white. Crowd damping dims points by how many
others land in the same screen patch; brightness is a plain multiplier
on top, applied the same to selected and unselected points.

Brush tool: drag on empty sky to box a group, or toggle
Lasso to trace a freeform outline; either stays marked through every
view, tracked by star not by screen position. What a new brush does to
an existing selection is set by brush action above; shift-drag always
adds. Zoom tool: drag draws a box to zoom into, scroll zooms at the
cursor either way, Reset zoom restores the auto-fit view. Either tool:
click a star to pin it. ←→ views, space
tour, d drift, esc clear.
Each view is a linear projection of all properties at once, standardized to
median 0 and robust σ 1. Changing view rotates the projection plane, so
stars move continuously between diagrams. A star without a value for a
property (not defined for that geometry, or no flux at this aperture) fades
out as that property rotates in. Fluxes are at 1 kpc.
